If you're looking to update your bathroom then acrylic is a good alternative to many kitchen and bathroom surfaces. Acrylic is a useful, clear plastic that resembles glass but has many more added benefits. It is for these reasons that it is commonly used as splashbacks, wall panels, shower doors and many other things around the home.

Acrylic panelling is a great deal stronger than glass, meaning that is much more impact resistant and will not shatter. It is for these reasons that it is considered a safer material to work with. If you're looking for a shower door replacement you can’t go wrong with acrylic. Also the transparency of acrylic is 93% making it the clearest material known. Very thick glass will have a green tint, whereas acrylic remains clear making it a perfect material for a sleek, contemporary half shower door.

As acrylic is half the weight of glass it makes installation of acrylic panels quick and easy. Acrylic can also be cut and fitted on site as it only requires to be sawn, whereas glass must be scored.

Acrylic is easy to clean and will always look new as long as you maintain it properly. For cleaning, all it requires is a soft damp cloth and your regular household cleaner. It's often assumed that acrylic can scratch easily, however, unlike shower door glass, marks in the acrylic can be buffed out, but it's best to use a lint-free cloth when cleaning to minimise damage.

At Sheet Plastics we offer an excellent range of acrylic and polycarbonate sheets that are all designed and produced to your exact specifications, meaning all you have to do is simply put the panel in place and fit. We also offer a range of fixing accessories to assist you in your installation.
